Some of you may have pitched up at the shop for your normal after work drinks on Friday the 8th of March only to find our doors to be closed? But why? As some of you know the shop is located in the old Linden Hotel and has been operating under the Hotel’s licence for a few decades. Recent changes to the Liquor Act does not allow us anymore to operate under this licence. A few months ago we have applied through the Gauteng Liquor board to have the licence converted. This process is taking longer than we wish but our application for conversion was not accepted as sufficient for us to keep on selling liquor at the store, i.e the reason for the closed doors on Friday night. The good news is we will apply for a temp licence until this process is now finalised. This means our ice tea coctails will have no kick, and George’s mojito skills will be put on ice. But please join us for everything else(apart from liquor) during our normal ours. I would love to type “cheers” but I am not sure if that is allowed under the liquor act………
See you soon.
